He has been working with Ms. Denice since April of 2018 via online. She started with a thorough assessment and evaluation to better understand his individual needs. She works with Brandon with an equity mindset by meeting him at his pace, while gradually bringing him to the level he is expected to achieve.
I have seen changes in his school work immediately from her sessions. Brandon has shown improvement in his oral and written comprehension, story retelling, inferential and critical thinking skills. We love Ms. D’s “picture walks”! These are just one of the many tools she has used to help Brandon navigate through his reading and help him better understand the story in order to answer questions correctly.
Her work has helped him with reading, but has also given him the ability to express himself in general conversations. We are beyond pleased to have her working with Brandon and are excited about what doors she has opened for him!

Although, my son is not quite reading Shakespeare, we all see the progress and the gap closing from where he was to where he needs to be. All mostly in part to the valuable tools he has acquired through tutoring with Denice this past year. Our journey is ongoing, and I look forward to process. Jemma H.
